Aug 11, 2010 The 29th Edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values doesn't give me any serial # references, just values in general. Without a manufacturing date, all I can do is guess. I did find one online Marlin search site and it indicated that all Marlin 39's with an S prefix were made in 1958 - 59. Marlin Model 39 age.
